Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India] March 15:<\/strong> To recognise the importance of intangible benefits in green buildings,\u00a0Danish Industry (DI)<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0CII-Indian Green Building Council (IGBC)<\/strong>\u00a0are launching a first-of-its-kind research report\u00a0\u2018Sustainable Workspaces \u2013 Catalysts for Productivity and Profitability in Indian Businesses.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

With a mission to prioritise sustainability, development and economic cooperation, Denmark and India have been partnering on various fronts by collaborating through exchange of ideas, technology, and research.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Danish Industry and the CII \u2013 IGBC have pursued a collaborative research project that seeks to identify the\u00a0role of green buildings in creating better economic opportunities<\/strong>\u00a0and enhancement of physical, intellectual, and social well-being of building occupants.\u00a0<\/p>\n

His Excellence Freddy Svane,\u00a0<\/strong>Ambassador of the Royal Danish Embassy to India,\u00a0\u00a0Shri Ashwini Kumar<\/strong>, IAS, Principal Secretary, Urban Development & Urban Housing Department, Government of Gujarat,\u00a0launched the research report along with other dignitaries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

H. E. Freddy Svane,<\/strong>\u00a0Ambassador of the Royal Danish Embassy to India shared that this was a milestone event for the\u00a0Strategic Partnership Agreement<\/strong>\u00a0between\u00a0Denmark<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0India<\/strong>, and will only strengthen the collaboration between the countries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shri Ashwini Kumar<\/strong>, IAS, Principal Secretary, Urban Development & Urban Housing Department, Government of Gujarat, expressed that he is very glad that the research work has been taken up in the vibrant city of Gujarat and trusts that it will set a precedent across India. He shared that Gujarat is leading in many fronts including sustainability.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mr. Jayesh Hariyani,\u00a0<\/strong>Chairman IGBC Ahmedabad Chapter, said that \u201cWith wider adoption of green buildings, the awareness on health and well-being of occupants in the buildings has started increasing and gaining primary importance. IGBC has been spearheading the green building movement in India since 2001. I am happy to share that IGBC is facilitating\u00a0<\/em>11.51 billion sq.ft<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0of green built space in\u00a0<\/em>India<\/em><\/strong>\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cEconomic growth is important, so is the environment. Integrating sustainable measures in our workspaces can help balance both these aspects. Besides resource efficiency, it has an immense impact on the health and well-being of employees, resulting in higher productivity and talent retention.
