Mumbai, Aug 10: The All India Importers & Exporters Association (AIIEA) sincerely welcomes the merchandise export target of US$400 billion announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi for the current financial year 2021-22 while virtually addressing the exporters and the stakeholders including all the State Governments, Export Promotion Councils, Exporter Associations, Commodity Boards, Industry Associations, Indian Missions and Consulates, on Aug 6, 2021.
Mr. B. Timothy, Vice President of AIIEA, stated that “The target envisages an increase of 37% over the last financial year and is certainly achievable given the fast pace of global economic recovery and untiring efforts being made by the Central Government despite challenges posed by the Covid-19”.
The Prime Minister’s vision is commendable and relevant as India celebrates the 75th year of Azadi this year with a renewed commitment to take India towards its past glory of being ‘DuniyakaBazaar” and “DuniyakaKarkhana”.
The Prime Minister rightly emphasized four areas where the stakeholders need to concentrate on achieving the target —competitive and qualitative manufacture, removing transport and logistics bottlenecks, cooperation of all governments with the Export Councils and searching for new international markets for Indian goods.
The Association appreciates the Prime Minister’s call to all the exporters, stakeholders, the State Governments and the Indian diaspora to be on the front foot to achieve this target and make India stronger.
The All India Importers & Exports Association expresses its gratitude to the Prime Minister for setting this achievable target and requests all the exporters and stakeholders to rise to the occasion in strengthening the Prime Minister’s vision in guiding our nation to attain greater heights.
